Any backup system only proves its worth when it’s needed. I’ve been using Carbonite for a while now and have needed to restore twice. Both times it’s been simple and quick to find what I need and get it back.
First time was organising some photos on our main PC over the network from a laptop. The downsite to this is delete means delete, not just ‘move to the recycle bin’. Carbonite to the rescue number 1.
The second was after reinstalling the media centre. Countless hours of telling Picasa who each face belonged to was recovered by restoring a previous version of facetemplatesV2_0.db from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Google\Picasa2\db3 folder and contacts.xml from the %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Google\Picasa2\contacts folder.
Thank you Carbonite. I can highly recommend it, especially at £42 per year for unlimited (yes, you read that right) storage. If you want to sign up let me know; the referral programme means you can get a month for free (and so do I 🙂 ).
