I thought making Indian breads was hard. Turns out I was wrong.
- 1 cup of wholemeal or bread flour
- 1/3 cup of warm water
- 2 teaspoons of oil
Mix it all together and kneed for 5-10 minutes (or cheat and use a mixer with a dough hook) then rest in a bowl for an hour covered with a wet cloth. Divide into 12 and roll out into 5 inch discs then:
- Deep fry for pooris
- Dry roast in a pan for chapattis
- Fry with a little ghee or oil for parathas
Serve with chutneys and pickles or a curry. Ommm nommm.
